SmartAction exists to advance the AI movement, bridging the gap between what is, and what can be. We are a fully remote company that provides AI-powered virtual agents as a service to more than 100 leading brands across 12 industries. We are headquartered in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.

The SmartAction Account Manager will play a critical role in expanding client relationships, revenue growth, and building true partnerships with our key accounts. The Account Manager will build deep relationships with clients and work to continuously improve account health, grow account revenue, and exceed application performance expectations. The primary focus is on achieving revenue targets, leading new & existing engagements, and selling our service offerings across client accounts.


Leading Key Client Engagements

  • Represents SmartAction as the key stakeholder and escalation point for clients at assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for developing strategic relationships throughout the customer organization, from front-line management to C-Level stakeholders.
  • Leads the creation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, or annual client review meetings with the objective of proving existing value and pursuing new opportunities
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible travel schedule and attend meetings/client visits as needed

Grow Existing Customer Accounts

  • Manage the health and happiness of a book of existing client business, likely across a range of industries and use cases
  • Developing and communicating a deep understanding of client needs, industry trends, and our service offerings holistically
  • Drive our account renewal process to minimize churn, with incentives to increase renewal tenure and dollar volume
  • Manage upsell and renewal data in Salesforce maintaining clear and up to date information in our system of record
  • Work with the VP of Account Management as a thought and strategy partner to keep SmartAction on the cutting edge of customer success organization structure, as well as upsell and renewal processes and best practices

Manage Client Relationships

  • Take ownership of assigned accounts immediately post-sale, shepherding through application development, go-live, and into production, prioritizing understanding what drives their business and how we can best partner with them to deliver
  • Act as the “voice of the customer” in internal conversations
  • Collaborate with the client and internal stakeholders to determine the client’s key metrics to determine success, and work with our operations team or independently to report against these on an ongoing basis
  • Establish and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with your book of clients, both at the Project Manager level and the Executive level, with the goal of making all our existing clients referenceable and ready to stand on a conference stage and sing our praises

Qualifications/Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 4 or more years of progressive experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Sales, or other closely related fields with a high level of client exposure.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS sales
  • Persuasive and confident speaking skills with C-level executives.
  • Strong sense of initiative while being persistent with follow-up.
  • Strong financial acumen related to product pricing, customer profitability, and achieving sales goals
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, or other web-based presentation technology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote team environment.
  • Experience working side-by-side with executive-level stakeholders to solve complex business problems in a variety of industries
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, with the ability to motivate and align stakeholders from other departments to make progress on complex, multi-dimensional issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You “sweat the small stuff” and are detail-oriented, holding yourself and your teammates to a high standard
