SmartAction exists to advance the Artificial Intelligence (AI) movement, bridging the gap between what is, and what can be. We are a fully remote company of ~50 people that provides AI-powered virtual agents as a service to more than 100 leading brands across 12 industries. We are headquartered in Dallas/Fort-Worth, TX. Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Mid or Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our Engineering & QA team and help us grow. The QA Analyst role is responsible for monitoring the overall health and performance of existing client applications as well as evaluating the overall quality of newly developed applications. Currently, most of the testing is done manually but we are starting to implement automated tests. Since most of our client applications are interactive voice response (IVR) systems, most of the testing is done by triggering phone calls into the IVR systems and interacting with the underlying technology.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create effective test strategies for applications and services to improve products quality
  • Write and execute test plans
  • Ensure continuous testing and monitoring of functionality, stability, performance, and accuracy of all components
  • Ensure that the final product satisfies the requirements and meets end-user expectations
  • Investigate and debug issues

Qualifications/Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance in a software development environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with databases and APIs
  • Very good technical documentation skills
  • Proactive, diligent, and meticulous
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize and multi-task on the fly
  • Self-motivated and self-directed; fast learner
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment in which the requirements are not always well defined and priorities change frequently
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strict time management skills

The candidate must be eligible to work in the US. We do not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

Pluses

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance in a software development environment
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with interacting and testing IVR systems
  • Experience querying database data/logs in order to provide additional information/context for failures
  • Familiarity with the following technologies/products:
    • Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence)
    • Microsoft Office product suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.)
    • Lucidchart flowchart/diagram software
    • Git and SVN centralized version control systems
    • SQL database language
    • Splunk data platform
    • Postman API platform
